Lakewood Business Signs

The city of Lakewood is located in the center of the current U.S. state of Colorado.  Prior to intervention by the United States, this land belonged to the Arapahoe peoples under the 1851 Treaty of Fort Laramie.  However, in 1858, gold was discovered in the area, and United States citizens flooded in.
