Sign Sizes

The size of your sign is often just as important as the message you are conveying. You probably wouldn’t want a huge banner to use for advertising your business on your car; just like you most likely wouldn’t use a small yard sign as the main signage for your store or restaurant. When you choose Sign.com for all of your signage needs, you have several options to choose from to ensure that you get the right size for your specific application.

Sign Sizes

Signs come in all shapes and sizes. From 6” x 12” all the way up through 5’ x 10’, we have sign sizes that are suitable for any application. Each sign material is available in a number of sizes.

Alumacore

Alumacore is perfect for large outdoor signs that can’t weigh a lot. It is made by smashing corrugated plastic between two pieces of aluminum. It is lighter than a straight aluminum sign but maintains the durability those offer.

• 2’ x 4’
• 3’ x 6’
• 4’ x 8’
• 2’ x 3’
• 4’ x 4’
• 4’ x 6’

Aluminum

Aluminum signs are highly durable, but they are also among the heaviest signs available. If you have the ability to hang an aluminum sign and it fits with your building and the rest of your decor, these signs can last a long, long time.

• 6” x 12”
• 2’ x 3’
• 6” x 24”
• 9” x 24”
• 18” x 12”
• 24” x 24”

Corrugated Plastic

Corrugated plastic is lightweight and versatile but not incredibly durable. It’s often used for short-term signage. If you think of the political campaign signs that many people stick in their front yards or on street corners during election season, most of these are made from corrugated plastic. We offer many sizes, though, for a variety of uses.

• 2’ x 4’
• 3’ x 6’
• 4’ x 8’
• 2’ x 3’
• 4’ x 4’
• 4’ x 6’
• 6” x 24”
• 9” x 24”
• 18” x 12”
• 18” x 24”
• 24” x 24”

DiBond (Aluminum with Solid Core)

DiBond is a rigid composite material. In these signs, it is sandwiched between two sheets of aluminum. It can be cut straight or made into a 3D sign that is sturdy and highly durable. It is more durable than Alumacore while still maintaining a lighter weight than a straight aluminum sign. Many street signs are made from DiBond.

• 2’ x 4’
• 3’ x 6’
• 4’ x 8’
• 2’ x 3’
• 4’ x 4’
• 4’ x 6’

MDO (Plywood)

MDO is a special type of plywood made especially for signs. It comes in ½” or ¾” thicknesses and is covered with a paper film to make printing the sign easier. This surface is smooth and long-lasting. Wooden signs have a particular look that can be good for information signs or restaurant signs.

• 2’ x 4’
• 3’ x 6’
• 4’ x 8’
• 2’ x 3’
• 4’ x 4’
• 4’ x 6’

PVC

PVC signs are made from the same material as PVC pipes, so they are relatively lightweight (though not the lightest) and last for a long time. These are indoor/outdoor signs, so can be perfect for trade shows or other outdoor venues. They are low-glare and easy to cut into a variety of shapes.

• 2’ x 3’
• 6” x 24”
• 9” x 24”
• 18” x 12”
• 18” x 18”
• 18” x 24”
• 24” x 24”

Vinyl Banner

Vinyl banners are weather resistant but are usually used for shorter-term, non-permanent signage. If you need to advertise a sale or an event, these signs do the job beautifully. You can have vinyl cut into almost any size and shape that you want, though our standard sizes are the ones listed below.

• 2’ x 3’
• 4’ x 6’
• 2’ x 4’
• 3’ x 6’
• 4’ x 4’
• 4’ x 8’
• 6’ x 2’
• 7’ x 3’
• 3’ x 10‘
• 4’ x 10’
• 5’ x 10’

Magnetic Sign

These mobile signs allow you to take your advertising with you. They are usually attached to the door or body of a vehicle, so that everyone who sees your car also sees your business. They are also great for delivery vans or trucks, or vehicles that are used both personally and professionally.

• 12” x 24”
• 18” x 24”
• 24” x 12”
• 24” x 18”
• 24” x 24”

Choosing the Right Sign Size

Choosing the right sign size is sometimes a bit of a challenge. If you choose from one of the pre-designed templates available from Sign.com, the standard size for that product will automatically be chosen for you. Parking signs, for example, are typically 18” x 12”. This should give you a bit of an idea on standard sizes for common signage options.
